Welcome to 93Q Radio,
I'm Bob, a 73 year young Italian boy from Brooklyn, a veteran and music lover. I have been rockin’ the radio airwaves since 2010. While working at a local talk radio station in 2013 I heard there was a window opening from the FCC for LPFM station permits. Now this only happens every 15 - 20 years.
An LPFM is a nonprofit radio station that produces income through membership, pledge drives and underwriters of programming. I really wanted to do something that gave a voice to the local community and the LP format from the FCC is used to educate and inform. It just seemed perfect.
93Q was brought to life in January 2015 and it wasn’t long before we realized the best way to give the community a voice was to get them on the air. To date we have done over 3000 interviews with local government, law enforcement, nonprofits, service clubs, businesses, events, fund raisers, education and so many more.
We also realized that people would like to see the person being interviewed, so we put a camera in the studio and started streaming to Facebook. That’s when we became “radio you can see”.
We will continue to look for ways to unite the Yuba Sutter Community through their own voices. The Yuba Sutter area has its own distinct personality, it’s made up of so many different entities and we felt it should be reflected through the people that call it home. That’s it, after all…why we are Q-munity Radio that you can see.
KETQ-LP 93Q is community radio for the Yuba City - Marysville Metro area with a variety of music from eight decades. “A Great Song is always a Great Song!” We give voice to our community through interviews of local business owners, service, organizations, community leaders, and everyday people who are making a difference in the lives of our great community. The interviews are at 7:15am and 8:15am each weekday morning and can be viewed on our Facebook page. We provide national and local news plus weather every hour!
